Dogs for Rehoming

We are currently looking for homes for some very special dogs.

These dogs do have issues that will need people who are experienced collie owners.

If you think you may be able to help please contact us, protectingprelovedbordercollies@yahoo.com

Ricky

10 months old

Ricky is now ready to move to his forever home.

Ricky is a sweet boy who is good with other dogs. He could be rehomed with older children. He hasn't had much experience of the world so will need to be introduced to new things slowly.

He is currently in foster in Wales so meets are possible.

SAM

10 months old - male

Sam came to PPBC with his 2 brothers and mum and dad.

He has since been in a foster home living with other dogs and has been around ponies.

Sam was very underweight when he came in and has slowly gained some weight but this will need to be continued in his new home.

Sam has become very attached to his fosterer and is very affectionate with her but is wary of other people. He is not keen on travelling in the car but this is improving.

Sam would ideally be homed with another dog(s) but will chase birds so probably not best to rehome with small furries or cats.

Sam would be best with one owner or a couple who will give him the time and patience to build up a bond with them. Once this has happened you will be rewarded with a lovely, affectionate boy. Due to this he would be best in a home where he will not be left for long periods of time.

Sam is in foster in Norfolk so meets would be possible.

BUSTER

2 years 8months

* Male

* Neutered

* Adult only home. Visiting children Okay

* No cats please

* Buster could possibly live with Female dogs as has done so before.

* Activity level Medium to High - if allowed to become bored he will fixate on things and bark.

* Currently in Foster in Ammanford Wales. Meets and greets encouraged as this lad has had so many let downs.

Buster is still looking for his for-ever home. 😢Buster is very bright lad and affectionate with his people and will make a wonderful dog with a committed home.

Busters main problem is he can be highly reactive to some dogs when on a lead and overstimulated, so he will need on-going help with this and a quiet location away from high density ‘doggy areas’ so he has opportunity to learn dog tolerance from a distance in a controlled way. Buster is a young powerful dog, so please be mindful of this before applying.

He likes to work for his treats and praise so a home that will exercise his brain as well as his body and have a calm and confident authority with him to offer him the direction and training he is desperate for would be ideal.

SHADOW

2 years

Neutered

Cats and small furries are a definite no no and he has the potential to be a barker if left for long periods. Temperment wise, very good. Will need further training as only had bare minimum.

He could potentially live with a tolerant Female, but shadow will guard food so any home will need to be prepared to work with this. Tends to ignore other dogs when out and about, he has been on public transport and is fine (we are told). Shadow is used to visiting children, but has never lived with them. He can get excited and jump up so homes with smaller visiting children should be aware that he will need teaching about all feet being on the floor and being gentle. 😀

Currently in Foster in Ammanford Wales.

Meet and greets encouraged

RADAR

6 months - male

Radar is looking for his forever home.

He is a very active clever boy and needs an active home where he will be kept busy. He loves learning new things and will make a great dog in the right home. He is used to other dogs so could be rehomed with them but will bark and try to chase cats. Older dog savvy children considered.

He is currently in foster in Wales so meets are possible.

If you think you can offer Radar the right home please email us at protectingprelovedbordercollies@yahoo.com

FLOSS

Collie x Beadie - 11 years old

Floss needs a quiet home which will give her a chance to settle. She ignores other dogs and livestock etc but has not lived with a cat so we are not sure how she would react. She loves travelling in the car but does bark while in the car. She is an affectionate girl once she knows you and likes to be part of the family.

BUCKY

1 year old

Neutered Male

Children - Older Children okay

Cats - yes

Dogs - yes

Needs a semi rural home with low traffic

In Foster West Yorkshire, meet and greets possible.

Fosterer Update:

Bucky is a 1 yr old neutered male looking for his forever home.

He can live with other dogs, even a multidog household, can live with cats and teenage children. He's extremely trainable and loves learning new things. He has a great recall and is a generally lovely obedient dog and loves a sofa snuggle! Bucky has a lot of potential to be a fantastic dog!

Special considerations:

Bucky trigger stacks and his main triggers are traffic, being on lead, possibly airport noise too. He is in foster in an extremely rural environment and has become a different, much calmer dog not having to encounter traffic and having mainly off lead exercise. Obviously homes like this are hard to find! He could cope with eg a quiet small cul de sac on the edge of a village, or more rural.

Kes

7 months - Male

Kes is looking for his forever home.

This gorgeous boy came in with his 2 brothers from an unplanned litter.

Kes is a very active dog so will need an active lifestyle or possibly be trained to work. He can live with other dogs (he is not neutered so cannot be homed with entire bitches) but barks at cats so would likely chase given the chance.

He is not used to children but could be homed with older children that know how to behave around dogs.

He is not used to busy towns so ideally a quieter location would be best or someone willing to slowly introduce him to new surroundings and experiences.

He is currently fostered in Wales and meet and greets are welcome.

Jimi (Reserved)

1 year - male

No cats

Would be better as a solo dog to get all the attention.

Shepherd x BC, but very BC brain and as such will attempt to herd traffic, but is making progress with this. Further training needed!

He is very active (as all young dogs are!) and like a sponge for information and learning, can go with a sensible older dog or as a solo dog so long as he is getting adequate brain stimulation and exercise, he will thrive in some kind of doggy activity.

Older Children possibly as he can be mouthy so be aware of this! Otherwise a blank canvas to be be trained and loved to his full potential.
